Buttons

These are some photos of my first batch of buttons. Some are made of porcelain but most are made from a very dark stoneware clay fired to stoneware temps. The buttons were textured using all sorts of items ranging from the tread of a shoe, antique wooden print blocks, carved wooden buttons, rubber stamps, and anything I thought might be interesting. I decided to make these when my purse knitting frenzy used up my collection of large buttons from granny's sewing box and I was disappointed with the variety I found in stores. These range in size from 3/4 inch to 3 inches. I fully intend to make more. But here is an example of what I've whipped up so far....
